Info

What happens when you marry graphic design principles with scrapbooking? You create the Scraphic Design process, a set of steps beginning with blank canvas and finishing with a kick-butt, completed page using your polished design sense. Once you know the whys and hows of this process, you can readapt it to fit your crafting style.
Join Tiffany Tillman in the first of her two part design series, Scraphic Design: Foundations. You’ll take a journey into the design process beginning with creative inspiration, sketching techniques, the major principles of design, dynamic page structure and finally end with individual, personalized critiques.
This workshop will teach you how to move past the basics like "rule of thirds" and advance into modern solutions tailored to fit the needs of today's digital scrapbook designer. Tiffany even shares when, and how, to break the rules. You''ll be amazed at the evolution of your projects after exploring her Scraphic Design process.
Bring on the questions!
If Scraphic Design is a two-part series, where is the second part?
The second class is a separate workshop called Scraphic Design: Core and will begin shortly after Foundations ends. Expect lessons to expand into Color Theory, the Elements of Design including texture and patterns, text, layering, and illusion. Each student will also receive a final design critique of their class projects.

Should we expect templates?
Yes, expect layered PSD friendly files, but only as references for project lessons. Your individual projects will be of your own design.

What are the recommended prerequisites?
Know the basics of your software and digital scrapbooking. Renee's Basics course is a good place to start.

What is Critique Week?
The design process just isn't complete without a fair review of your works in progress and completed assignments. During critique week, or anytime thereafter, Tiffany will provide an in-depth, written critique of student's classwork.

What’s with the 1950s theme?
Tiffany is stuck there. Please help! Just kidding.
Actually, she addresses her insatiable appetite for this golden age during class. Prepare to receive quite a few "nuggets" of graphic design insight, humor included.
